Should I Apply for Social Security Disability?

Potential Social Security Disability (SSD) claimants are sometimes hesitant to pursue benefits, though they should not feel guilty about filing an application for benefits they deserve. Moreover, obtaining benefits can foster a sense of vindication and help ease financial pressures.

It is important, however, that claimants be prepared to spend time thinking and talking about their disability with strangers, including the Social Security Administration and their attorney.

Although some claimants don't see an immediate benefit from fighting for their Social Security, there are good reasons to pursue a claim.
